We seek a customer-oriented Manager to oversee the Security department, ensuring high service levels and performance.  Perform constant review of the overall needs of the client/property considering current market security conditions and make recommendations to ERMC management.  Enforce ERMC and client policies and procedures.  Keep abreast of advances within the security industry and other security programs that support ERMC’s mission and vision and discuss implementation with Regional and Corporate Security Management.  The ideal candidate will use an effective, collaborative leadership approach, inspiring respect and trust and leading by example.

Responsibilities include

  • Meet with the client on a daily/weekly basis to report current property conditions and present an action plan to address changing conditions, if warranted.
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with local and state governmental agencies to provide the latest data on security issues and cooperation on property security incidents.
  • Ensure timely and proper notifications of security incidents and issues with client representatives and Regional Management.  Communicate serious security incidents or issues immediately to both Regional and ERMC Corporate Security Management.
  • Recruit competent personnel using effective methods to keep staffing at acceptable levels, working within budgeted hours and expenses.  Manage the department work schedule to ensure proper preparation and staffing every day and for special events
  • Ensure company and state licensing standards are consistently met and enforced.
  • Train and manage security staff.  Set site security operational goals, regularly assess performance, and quickly make effective corrections to performance and conduct, including retraining and employee corrective action and development plans.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in business administration or related field preferred.  Certified Protection Professional (CPP) designation or other related professional certifications highly desired.  Relevant work experience can substitute for education.
  • 2-3 years’ security experience, preferably in a retail environment or equivalent law enforcement or military experience.  Security staff supervision required.
  • Dedication to excellence in customer service. A proactive approach in anticipating, listening to, understanding, and promptly responding to customer needs.
  • Make a professional impression, both in appearance and conduct. Highly effective verbal communicator. Exude confidence and comfort in interacting effectively with all levels of management and staff.
  • Sound leadership skills and solid decision making.  Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Strong attention to detail.  Excellent written communication skills -- accurate, clear and concise report writing.
  • Hold a valid driver’s license in the state of current residency.  Successfully pass pre-employment testing, including a criminal background investigation, drug screening, motor vehicle record check, and any State-required training or other qualifications for licensing.
  • Accessible 24/7 with the ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Bilingual Spanish skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite a big plus.
